Since that day at Cree’s house Carter and I have been kicking it on a heavy level. That was a little over a month ago. Not to mention our sex game was crazy. Whenever the moment hit us we were at it like rabbits; didn’t matter where we were. Lately he’s been staying at my house since he wanted to be closer to his drug trade for which I didn’t mind at all because that meant he and I were getting to spend one on one time with each other. The thing I like about Carter was that he was upfront with his shit. He admitted that he didn’t want a committed relationship because his mind was solely focused on making money and providing for his family back home. Though it hurt me to my core to learn that Carter had a wife and child on the way back in Virginia; we were having fun. Of course when he broke the news of his wife to me I ran to my girls.

“Leave his ass alone Mimi.” Renee blurted out before sipping her Mimosa.

We were all gathered at my house for the night since it had been weeks that we gathered together. We’ve all been so busy getting on with our lives that we were too busy to notice that we hardly ever saw each other. I downed the rest of my Remy and allowed the burn to take over my throat before any words escaped. I poured myself another drink because this was going to be a long night. I looked over to Tanika who was oddly quiet the entire night. I needed her for reassurance that I wasn’t making the wrong decision in going after Carter.

“Mimi he won’t leave his wife and unborn child for you.” Jamaya latched on to Renee’s bandwagon.

“First off nobody said anything about leaving anybody. Secondly I’m just having fun and lastly who the fuck ask ya’ll?” I felt my buzz coming on and removed my headscarf because I was starting to feel the warmth of the liquor take over my body.

“Mílan, I know you. You’re going to catch feelings for this nigga and he gonna leave you with nothing but a wet ass and a broken heart.” Renee was starting to make sense but it’d be a cold day in hell before I told her that.

“Tanika talk some sense into your sister.” Jamaya yelled.

Tanika’s head snapped up like she was a deer caught in head lights. Her mind was obviously pre occupied by something that wasn’t present in my living room. I stared at her searching her face for answers but when I found none I resumed drinking the brown liquor that was currently consuming me.

“She’s a grown ass woman. What makes ya’ll think that she gonna listen to shit I have to say let alone what the fuck ya’ll yapping about. If she want to do her and have fun with Carter, then who the fuck are we to judge? Ya’ll need to cut the shit with ganging up on her.
